Soaring Eagle

presented by
Arc’teryx Seattle

Soaring Eagle will take you from traffic in the city to trails in the woods. The park’s easy-to-access trailheads and convenient location make Soaring Eagle Regional Park a popular destination for runners, hikers, bikers, and equestrians.

Nestled in Sammamish, Washington, Soaring Eagle has an intricate network of trails, including the well-maintained Pipeline Trail. The Pipeline Trail stretches across the entire park and is wide enough for you, your stroller, your dog, and even a cat if that’s your thing. However, the park’s beauty truly shines when you turn off onto one of the many small, winding trails that jut from the Pipeline. You’ll enjoy well-graded trails in lush forests with enough roots and rocks to keep you on your toes.

This is an absolutely classic event that brings out the whole community. So make sure to come and join us for a day of trails, running, laughter, and we’re sure you’ll make some new friends.

at a Glance

May 16, 2026

5k, 10k, and Half

Fun course that is relatively flat compared to some of our other races but has some sections with large roots.

Soaring Eagle takes place on lands historically inhabited by the following Native American tribes:

dxʷdəwʔabš Duwamish
Coast Salish

Course Notes

There are two courses for this event. The 5km runners will complete an abbreviated version of the 10km loop. Half-marathoners will complete the 10km loop twice – double the fun!

All distances will start out on the Pipeline trail for a nice warm-up. At around .74 miles the 5k and 10k loops diverge. The 5k goes right and heads back through winding trails to the finish line. The 10k loop takes a left and gets to enjoy some of the best trails in the park as it winds through the forest on mostly flat, well-graded, but rooty tread. This is truly a beautiful forest, so make sure to enjoy the bird songs, creek sounds, and other local flora and fauna. With minimal elevation gain, this is a great race to go for that PR!

While this course is relatively flat compared to some of our other races, you will need to watch out for large roots, rocks, and puddles. Be careful when you proceed. Please read our section on the FAQ page regarding safety – it talks about what to do if you get lost or hurt.

The trails will be open to other users during the event, including equestrians, pedestrians and cyclists. See our FAQ page for more information about sharing the trails.

Buy a Tree Not a Tee

Trees not Tees help events reduce their environmental impact with one simple strategy – offering participants the choice of buying and planting a tree instead of a race tee.

Evergreen Trail Runs is partnering with Trees not Tees to help reduce the huge number of unwanted and unworn finisher’s tees produced each year and destined to become landfill.

After the event, participants who selected the option to have a tree planted receive a photo and GPS coordinates of their tree’s location.
