Grand Ridge Midsummer's Night Trail Run in Washington (WA) in the Pacific Northwest / NWCancellation Policy

All of our races require a lot of advance planning and pre-event expenses (such as permits, insurance, food, beverages, race swag, and awards). Many, if not most, of these expenses are not recoverable. Please read the following policies carefully before signing up for a race.

Participant cancellation

Registering in advance for any race involves some risk. However, we know sometimes things happen and you may not be able to attend a race you signed up for. If you aren't able to participate, please let us know as far in advance as possible. If you let us know at least 3 days ahead of time (by Wednesday 11:59pm for a Saturday race), as a courtesy you may transfer your entry fee to a future trail run. Please note that this is a firm deadline and we can't do a transfer after this because the start list would have been locked down. Only registered runners can participate, and you cannot exchange your entry with another runner. Note that we cannot transfer a trail run entry to the Lake Sammamish Half Marathon or the Lake Washington Half Marathon.

To proceed with this option, please Paypal $10 to cover processing fees, send us an email via Contact Us with proof of payment, and let us know what event you're moving from and to. If you'd like to move to a longer distance, please contact us, as you'll need to pay any price difference.

Race cancellation

Our goal is to provide an enjoyable, safe race experience. However, sometimes unusual conditions (weather and other) may require that, for your health and safety, we cancel a race. We don't want to cancel a race and will do so only if the safety risk is great. While we can't list every possible factor, some possibilities are: extreme heat, extreme cold, hazardous air quality, unanticipated road/trail closures, dangerous animals on the course, or other natural or human-caused acts.

Once the decision has been made to cancel a race, we will do our best to contact every registered participant as far in advance as possible. However, the very nature of many of these conditions may affect our ability to do so.

All racers pre-registered for a cancelled race will receive either a 50% refund or 50% credit towards a future Evergreen Trail Runs race of similar value.

Lake Sammamish Half Marathon and Lake Washington Half Marathon Policies

The size of these races requires more organization and pre-race expenses. Please see the Lake Sammamish Half Marathon policy and the Lake Washington Half Marathon policy for more details.
